Celebrating 62 years in business in 2017! We offer you one of the area’s most beautiful course layouts. The second oldest course in Kingston, built in 1955 by designer Dick Green. The course is known for its rolling hills, challenging layout and friendly/social atmosphere. Stretching to 6623 yards from the black tees, the course is one of the longest in the region.
Located just 15 minutes from Kingston, the Club is only a short drive away from the busy city centre and your escape into our clean country air and relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The “Glen”, as the Club is known by its beloved members and public golfers, is an inviting place with very friendly staff. The Club takes pride in being the fun spot to play! We feature a full outdoor patio, with spectacular panoramic views of the course. Enjoy a fabulous bar with 10 draft beer selections on tap! Enjoy a busy schedule of leagues, tournaments, socials and top entertainment acts on the patio. The Glen offers a terrific course, superb food and drink, as well as great value in our membership pricing and public green fees.
The holes wind up and down, and across the valley, creating an intriguing landscape that blends the best of golf and nature together as one. Customers say; it is “the best layout in the area”. The Glen offers individuals and groups a truly memorable golf experience in a relaxed club atmosphere. If you live in the Kingston area or are visiting our beautiful 1000 Islands region, and planning a day on the links, you won’t want to miss playing The Glen!
The Glen Lawrence Golf Club, Kingston, Ontario, was founded in 1955 by the Harvey Family. The Glen “back in its hay day” was run as a year round facility, offering 18 holes of golf, outdoor swimming pool, club house social events, dining, cross-country skiing, downhill rope tow lift, with slopes and a Snowmobile Club. The Club, for the most part, always had a full active golf membership and the members have enjoyed a very social, casual and fun club atmosphere. The Semi-Private Club today caters to our active golf members, public tournaments, golf leagues, junior programs, golf lessons, business meetings, weddings, parties and dining groups.
Ernie Ferguson, a real estate and insurance businessman from Toronto, bought the business in 1980 as an investment. Over the years the property has been managed by Ernie’s children Stephen, David, Cheryl and grandson Andrew. The Glen Lawrence Golf Club is run as a Corporation, entitled Ernest J. Ferguson Limited, with Cheryl Ferguson serving as the President, CEO and Secretary.
